This isn't just for realism, it is for the people who arn't near super quality water, and wish they had something better then quality 10.

The problem with you is that you are so closed to any argument about something you don't agree with. Open up man.

yeah, except that means paying more for the water than what you can get from the items you make with it. Nobody wants to go through the trouble of getting a couple of barrels of water if it means one bar of metal, nobody but newbies, and even then, that only gets me the ocassional barrel of ql 55 water.

yeah, but since then, I haven't found a single seller of water higher than 55. the only people I've found to sell me some water were a few newbies here and there who know of the ql 55 location on the maplib

I dont know if this is true or not, but when I was a kid going camping they told me that this was caused by the loss of aeration of the water. I do know that if you take said boiled water, add a TINY bit of salt, and shake it for a while, it regains a fair bit of its taste. For water, anyway.

As far as the Hiq water trading...it is really more of a pain than it is worth. Some way to improve water quality slightly, be it boiling or straining or filtering with sand, would be nice. Medieval Europe did have access to distillation, after all.
