...that would, for example, allow Flame to do his comics ingame and sell them for cash.

...I support.

However, copying books should take it's time (and a lot of ink), as back in the day you didn't copy a book on one day, so, you probably should need to copy individual pages.

(BTW Books are good. I love write books and let them around the world. Diary or just fool story or maibe a guide in game or..why not..a map from a player that left everything.
Or, also, a list of what my village should trade. XDD)

I would publish 100 copies of "The chronicle of Oathsworn"

This would open for great RP possibilities.

The book crafting recipe would also need string and glue (made from nonbutchered fish in a cauldron)

Also: "Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica" to help newbies understand the honey formulae and other semi-occult phenomena.

When we get skills overhaul, it'd be neat to have books as an alternative to learning directly from other players. I'd collect recipes from all over the world, compile them into books and sell them at my stall.

I don't think a book press is necessary. Add a new leather recipe for a "book cover." The pages can then be inserted one by one into the book. Hopefully some kind of interface can be created for organizing the pages. Then the players uses the "bind book" recipe, which requires thread.
