If you encumber the travel system too much it will prevent trade, or the value of trade. If it's more work to meet you than to produce the damn shit myself why the hell am i even trading???

To some degree teleporting kills realism, but realism kill gameplay. I'd prefer gameplay. If I want realism well....I have real life for that shit.

That's why I said that autoshops and bulk transports should come first. Teleportation of goods is actually killing trade, especially since it's so centralized at RoB. When I think of trade, I think of Silk Road, Constantinople, Venice, Hanseatic League... None of those would've ever happened if goods could simply be teleported from producer to final consumer.

It might still be a bit broken on the current map, as it's not exactly easy to build a road over two supergrids. But we need to think ahead, and I think it would work on a map with seas and natural-looking rivers. A proper ship should be able to hold hundreds of chests. All that would be needed to make the system complete would be regional advantages to production of certain goods (say, one part of the map has a perfect climate for crops, while another has cold climate which sucks for crops but makes animals grow thick furs).
