Candles are nice, but we need candle holders that are not made out of metal. I suggest a clay fired ceramic one. Preferably this would also be portable, like a torch is now, but it could also be placed on the ground, where needed. Now that is realism and an effective light source.

This was brought up before, at which they showed a picture of a torch holder that they had somewhat implemented, but haven't taken the effort to finish.

I agree with burning for a long time, like a week irl.

ok i'm all for longer burning time, but a week? overkill.

3 days - week seems reasonable to me. Lets say you have 12 candelabera's lighting the well used portions of a medium sized village. That's a fuckton of wax @ 3days ea. considering they're also heavily demanded for mining. @ 3 days this will give a SIGNIFICANT bump to the wool/wax market. @ a week it will still CREATE a market for wax. not overkill if it can do that imho. Hard to say exactly where the balance lies but it's somewhere in there.

I'd say five days IRL would be enough. More than enough time for a few beehives to create the amount of wax needed, and still more realistic than a week.

Alternatively a candle could self-extinguish after a set period of time (about 5 hours in game). This is realistic and IRL a typical 2-3" foot tall pillar candle can burn for about 30+ hours. This would be 3-5 days IRL depending on activity and be realistic.

Just being able to blow them out wouldn't hurt either; something I've wanted since the beginning.
