It adds nothing more to the game and just serves to make the interface more confusing for newbies.

Try not whining and eat real food. god forbid you bake some fricken pies or bread. or eat some mulberries.

Yeah a thread made about a problem newbies run into that makes the game harder to grasp, I should stop whining and change my play style? I already know how the bars work you're just really stupid and didn't even read the thread.

*push*

loftar wrote:The different stages aren't equivalent, though. For each step below "Full", you regenerate stamina slower; below "Hungry", you stop regenerating SHP; and below "Very Hungry" (i.e. on "Starving), you start taking HHP damage. So they do have a meaning.

sabinati wrote:just make it 25% for each section of the bar, or better yet, 50% for full, 30% for hungry, 10% very hungry and 10% starving

i personally like: 20% full, 30% hungry, 40% very hungry, and 10% starving

- 50% full & hungry means more SHP regeneration than actually
- and if you are very hungry, you should have enough time to avoid starving
(try to kill an animal with sling or bow if you are on starving :x , the same problem with leeches btw. )

It takes roughly a month for a healthy person to starve to death, along the way their are going to be some major impairments to the person but they don't come even spaced out at 1 week increments. Counting from cessation of eating you feel Full for only 6 hours, then Hungry, after 48 hours your weak/famished and after 1 week your starving and continue to 'starve' for 3 more weeks. I think that's what Loftar is trying to model. All that said the UI sucks, their should be one LONG bar that has different colored segments of different length, that way all food can visual move the bar the same amount all the time and the different sizes can be more obvious to the player.

It's worth noting that I can not see the difference between the green of the 'full' bar and the color it covers (yellow I think). I'm colorblind and I doubt I'm the only colorblind person playing the game ever. I said this way back at the start of the first world and the devs replied but nothing ever came of it.

I rezzed the thread.
i guess they never miss huh
