yep
but have to understand what money is.
in real world money is symbol of how much gold bank owns you in this moment.
in theory if you want you can go to bank and say that you want amount of gold represented by this money

here you would have to do the same

i agree with this
but instead of owns, it probably means owes.

aghmed, kinda pearls are gold here, don't you think? And shops which you can give stuff to and they save the amount of your points is kinda like points = money, pearls (or whatever you gave) = gold.

there is already a standard in place for trades. now i have heard of villages that go off the coin system for stuff but they quickly find out that no one outside thier walls will deal with them. if you need to know what the current rate for things in game are you should look at Ramone's, Flap-Mart, or any of the larger traders. some of the smaller traders will go for lower to undercut. think wal-mart vrs. mom and pop places.

if you will assume that only 1 insitution can make coins and that this institution will give you number of pearls that you deposited while taking coins, Then this is proper.
otherwise is like dollars that everyone can print on ther home printers.

If the value of a gold nugget per se was more than the coin it makes counterfeiting would be unreasonable

rule is simple
if you wnt to make that system make a trade market that will always buy or sell stuff for some amount of gold coins. if you will make it stable enough ppl will rather sell stuff to you to ge coins to be able to buy stuff for that coins later
if you will see it deeper we already have that system it is called "points". 1 point is worth 1 point. its least value and all stuff is worth multiple of tjhis value. This value have other names, for example 20 of theese values are called "flotsam"

It happens, not everyone speaks English as their primary language. Aghmed is also absolutely right and his point was for the purpose of discourse.
