It is my hope that the next generation of the map generator can make much larger "climate zones" than the current one, so that some resources can be very widely separated, and so that we can build resource trees on top of them that make the area determine in large parts what clothing/tools/weapons/&c. are available to players, and that cultures can spring from such things, as well as from new dimensions of character specialization.

Yeah, I was already informed, in this very thread, that it was urban legend.

But I can see that may have been ambiguous  , so thanks for taking the time to clarify.

The first line of your post is a suggestion based on something you don't have the slightest clue about, why do people keep doing this?

because they're new to the game and like it, get excited and want to share.

Why do you devote so much time to bumping their threads with your lame put downs?

just contribute something useful.

i also think that animals shouldnt have a limited danger-level. just nerf the lp bears give and let them get higher levels! for many players the "wilderness" is like the best place to be, cause you get lp and hq goods without any actual danger...

Indeed, the wilderness would be safer, because in towns everyone can take your stuff, and doesn't even need to try to fight you.
I didn't think of that.
Surprise.

At this point re-working the animal level system so it went up instead of down (right now lvl 10 is the start and it's reduced by civilsation, as opposed to the other way around) would simply be handing stupid amounts of LP and material wealth to the high level hunters.

There are several obvious problems that need to be solved before that happens (stick pens, water, stored initiative) and probably many non obvious problems.

I don't like this suggestion because it reinforces the flawed level system.

Jackard wrote:In my opinion, you should do away with the artificial system of creature levels altogether - it tends to make combat either frustrating or trivial and is not very immersive besides. This sort of change would go hand in hand with improving combat so that it focuses less on the skills of the individual and more on that of the group. A less grindy and LP dependent system.

Dangerous animals like boars, bears and wolves should always be dangerous, just in different ways; prey should be skittish instead of combative. Foxes should be the latter but also greedy for chicken. Some quarry should be so quick that you need dogs, bows or horses to hunt them down. You know how bears and boars took hunting parties to take down? That's be pretty sweet to see. Then just think of how awesome and terrifying a troll would be, a creature with the strength of a bear and a craving for human flesh....

PvP is currently similar to heroes dueling, if we want to see any decent battles we need to lessen the gap (canyon) between novice and veteran fighters. And in doing so, rid ourselves of the grind and dependency on LP.

Basically, levels make creatures uninteresting and reduces them to "mobs" that you "aggro" from any run of the mill MMO.

Also don't like when players suggest improvements to gameplay they have no understanding of
