Mushrooms growing in the dark are fine, full fledged economies fueled by underground mushroom farming are not.

Well, I guess. But if it grows in such small ammounts, would that be considered a rare food source?

If the mushrooms are a valuable trade good, why couldn't there be a village who's whole economy is based on underground mushroom farms?
