Just pointing out that people can't just go to mordor and expect to be safe from foxes, boars, and bears. There's a significant amount of work needed before you can actually be out here and expect to survive. Not to mention for it to STAY as mordor, you can't bring more than 1 or 2 people, meaning even more work to set up.

Otherwise, yeah, Civs need more benefits. BUT, I disagree with village members having innate bonuses, I could just join a village and get all the benefits without actually being there.

I believe I suggested village-only buildings before. Windmills can make grinding big loads of flour a lot easier, foundries for mass smelting and refining, and for chrissakes, give them bigger ovens.

Edit: Oh, and higher quality crafts ALREADY give more LP in case you haven't noticed.

Of course you would have ot be there.

You'de have to bake, smelt, forge, etc. there. Sure you could always plop down a village and gain some benefit but being able to erase scents should, I forgot to mention have to be done within village influence.

I like what firemage says about increasing LP gain (Or future system equivalent) for production activities conducted within civ levels.

In fact I'd prefer that over and speed benefit. As it is, high level farm *barely* rivals bear hunting. And only at 200+ at that.

Still comes nowhere near bear hunting except for what I mentioned above. Even then, What was your quote? 64 bears in an hour, record? Trying gaining THAT much LP doing anything in civilization.

I *Think* smithing HQ metal products might give this if you already have all the materials prepared. The time invested however comes nowhere near. But I don't need to explain to YOU the merits of bear hunting =P LMFAO

That's in a day, even if I doused myself in honey and crapped out raw meat in a trail behind me I wouldn't be able to get that much in an hour.

Still, how much did I have to give up to be able to hunt bears and kill them before they ran away? Either shittons of unarmed/melee to be able to avoid them and build a fence around them or a shitton of strength to be able to kill them before they flee.

So you can either spend several weeks grinding lower animals or give up dex and psy in order to boost strength. Or both.

blaze, to get to a point to where crafting gives more lp than bear hunting in a comparable time, you need to go hunting. doing otherwise means you'll fall far behind.

Then if hunting gives so much more LP than crafting, why don't more people hunt instead of craft? All you have to do is boost strength and give up all chances of getting high quality crafts without resorting to a different specialized character or spending several million LP in your crafting skills.

High quality crafts or lots more LP, take your pick.

Most people do in fact go hunting to boost their crafting skills.

So why are they complaining about hunting LP being much higher than crafting LP if they already benefit from it anyway?

If you want to sit and craft all day behind several walls of brick and mortar that's fine, if you want to get LP quick, you go out here and work for it.

They're both work though, why should it be imbalanced to favor one type of activity?

Crafting is always 100% successful, excluding wrought iron. If a bear runs away from you, you get nothing, you've wasted stamina and hunger, you wasted time, and probably got a few wounds for your trouble.

You can't argue for or against something that the devs have admitted is broken (AI) or use it as a foundation for an argument for the way things should be.
