Pig, in the case of mines and town centers, players can't claim their land because it makes it impossible for their allies to access.
Further, many players don't have the Yeomanry skill, leaving them open to that attack regardless.

But more importantly, there's the matter of courtesy; no matter if the game allows you to follow someone all day and swear at them, for instance, it's not right to do so.

I also strongly disagree with the idea that "if it's possible it should be OK". There will always be a modicum of player choice, and one should be responsible for their actions in the game.

Also, Pig, this is a discussion on game design and ways to make the game enjoyable for all players. Terms like "lol" won't get you very far.
Surprise.

People don't magically start with the LP to afford yeomanry and all the skills that come before it.

Plus for some reason he put his hearth fire inside his town's mine. :P

So, Pet, why don't you claim land just close to the mine. not so hard to get Yeomanry.
Who says it's not right to follow someone around and swear at them, if you don't like it the game allows you to deal with it, you can beat him up or kill him, or maybe the local po-lice could do so for you.
you are responsible for your actions, just look at the theif threads for example lol..

Also, Pet, LOL WTF OMG I actually am discussing, adding my oppinion, I just happen to disagree with you.

It was JFloyd who put his hearthfire in a communal mine (a fine and well-adjusted thing to do). I can say for sure that I agree with Peter. It's the griefers like manbearpig who make this game less enjoyable. I think that the worst griefers are on the forums. This problem has been partially solved in-game now.

I laugh out loud as well, but not at the thread. Nay, I am laughing at the stupidity of manbearpig and his silly ideas. What made him think that living in a group (so that you can't claim the land your hearthfire lies on) makes you dum? Mine-claiming is a bad thing, and will remain so until we can obtain our own mines.

You don't have to put your heartfire next to your buds lol.. even if you want that you can claim the area next to it, you can claim the area next to the mine, noone can now claim the actual mine. You're the fool for not preventing it from happening.

i think im going to throw something in here. Care bear.

is the game going to be catered to the carebears and make everything safe and secure from greifers.

or will the game stay the way it has been planned to be, sandbox, do what you want style.
