We're forgotten Jorb! How about a crappy lure to get them started off? xD

Jorb's Johnsons or Jorb's Jiggers or Jorb's Jimmies?

I wouldn't include the fishing pole in the beginner's set at all. It's worthless enough not to be taken out of the chest at all. It would be much nicer to have something more useful, like additional loaf of bread.

A fully equipped rod would be good. Taproot is a mater of luck, you could go for hours without finding any. I know I went a good half an hour before my first one turned up. A player just starting out would make a rod inferior to the starting q10 rod, and lures are plenty replaceable, but a new guy would only be lookinng at q6 rock lobsters. a Fishing rod with q10 for everything would be nice. And use yarn for the string, not taproot. Because it looks nicer and lets people who deconstruct it know that they're in the pits, using a root instead of proper string.

The tutorial really could use a five minute explanation, though. Give them a rod in pieces and tell them how to put it together, then to try fishing in the water (With directions), spawn a tree and tell them to pick an apple and a branch (Again, with directions), same for a rock. Then tell 'em to make a stone axe. Then another tooltip explaining how to eat.

The axe shows the basic layout of menus (They can explore them to find everything else), the rod shows how to add something to another object (Useful for lots of things), fishing and picking the apple show how to get food early on, and picking the branch and chipping the stone shows how to get the essential early components.

And instead of bread, give them one or two bread replacements (Still just as filling, but with no FEP) and some seeds. One wheat, one carrot and one hemp, perhaps. Really low quality, but it gets them started.

Complete fishing rod and starter seeds would be nice, yes. Maybe pumpkins?

Just remove FEP from bread. Not like there aren't enough Con items.

I support removing FEP from bread. Then our town's baker could make lots of food I could eat without screwing up my FEPs. -AND- I wouldn't have to live off of apples.

I'd have to agree on removing the FEP from bread. After I first started getting established bread was my only reliable source of food (Besides apples which are just really inconvienent to pick, eat, and throw away) so it really made it difficult to raise stats.Feeding myself with low ql foods and with 40 constitution is really kind of tedious.

Bunnies and chickens are about as reliable as bread, and you can churn them out pretty fast too if you focus on it and live in an unpopulated area

Bunnies give Agi, and Chickens give Dex, the point is that we want to fill up, but don't want to unbalance FEPs.
