dont really need that, just compare the map and your minimap. :P

if it was scaled to region map (no trees, right?) rather than local map and only lines i don't see a problem

I LOVE THIS!
FARHGHGGH!!

But seriously, cool idea.
I'd support that.

And fuck pointless realism.
Seriously.

I don't want to need a level 90 art skill to draw a map on a rock.
Just saying.

necropost bump

I'd like to add maps (and general writing) on birch bark and an extra tool (say a stone chisel) for that. birch bark (береста) was a common writing material in north-eastern europe, as paper or papyrus were unknown and pergament unavailable. it might have a fast decay rate, though.

Actually...

Why not just allow runestones (and parchments ?) to display small, grayscale jpgs ? (or even black and white bitmaps, embossed by the client ?)
That would allow for more complex maps (i.e. "here be high q clay") and other interesting uses.
As for the moderation issues, I really don't think Jorb would mind the dicks that much.

I wonder how would he feel after getting an adult rating for his game having many adult pictures though.

Fundamentally and thoroughly unconcerned. I would rather put a bullet through my brain than submit myself to any sort of rating process.

don't blame you one bit, jorb. rating systems are retarded imo.
