McGriddles wrote:Sounds nice, but maybe there should be some trade off? Setting up a hearth fire isn't difficult and the resources are easily attainable. For having a continuous source for cooking you would sacrifice FEP for the food you are cooking. That can be a good or bad thing depending on what it is you are cooking.

If anything, I would think a hearth fire would be BETTER then cooking with a normal fire.

Being able to cook without fuel isn't consistent with the use of fuel for everything else in the game. Improvement of the campfire is certainly called for but I can't see it becoming a no fuel cooker. Branches are now very finite, the regrowth is so slow as to be almost not worth waiting for. If you could build a fire from wood blocks (perhaps just one or two) you could make many fires from a single tree rather then just one.

Seems some people really want to use the receptacle of their soul to cook hotdogs. Fine, but don't complain when your soul smells like hogfat.

I'm guessing think there's some programming issues with interacting with your own hearth-fire with a right click. Only reason I see for this not being implemented already.
