Although it's silly what you have to do at the beginning to get LP enough to get some decent skills it's not like it's that time consuming to do it. I would agree with perhaps giving people at least some reasonable skill to start with to work off of though. Perhaps lumberjacking.

This would get rid of the first five or six hours of gameplay, which are quite obviously the worst.

I know this is kind of knit-picking but if it takes you 5-6 hours of gameplay to get those skills(and even include getting each one to 10 points.)there is something wrong with you.

keep in mind that you are not at full peaceful/change in your first few days.

getting foraging, hunting, fishing, plant lore and farming is about 1200 LP, easy enough. getting a skill to 10 is 5400. (not that i think players should start with 10 in each skill)

I have another idea.
when you buying fishing+foraging+hunting, you getting +10 to survival. When you buying baking+winemaking+beermaking, you getting +10 cooking.
limberjacking — +5 carpentry.

it will be logical. How i can have all survival skills, but still dont have 10 in «survival»?

no i mean thats what the mechanic has been called in other systems.

like in d&d3.5 if you have enough points in a related skill you get a bonus to your roll

or the bonuses you get from similar skills in diablo 2
