Yeahhh... I was just standing in the middle of my claim talking on IRC and whoosh, a drying rack with a boar hide on it, a nice high quality one mind you, just blinked out of existance. It was not red, it was not damaged, it was not anything but doing it's job, and whoosh, gone, right in front of my eyes. This really needs to be changed. I don't think anything should be disappearing randomly in one decay hit on pavement. Funny part is I've been at this house now for about five days. I went back to my old settlement, which has been untouched, all things still in cupboards which I left, including a ton of food, and all three of it's drying racks are still there after sitting there for a week or longer, yet one I just built a few days ago in a house I am actively living in and is claimed has vanished.
I understand you want decay to be random, but does it have to be random between values of ten seconds and never? I think say anywhere from twenty four to forty eight hours would be nice. Then decay will definately hit at least every other day, but may hit every day. This also means no matter when it hits or doesn't hit, it's always at the same general time so we know to keep our crap repaired.
Randomizing it so much and also making things break so easily just seems like you're playing a trick on us, trying to make us either be paranoid and be repairing every half hour, or lose stuff constantly.
