If they are ruining the game for you then get back at them or get a few people who are dedicated warriors and arm them to the teeth. It doesn't take that many people to take down a single person, albiet some combat skill is require. Either get into a bigger group thus likely increasing the number of dedicated warriors in your midst, or just submit. You don't get any LP for killing people as far as I know.

It should be incredibly hard for new players to catch up to old players, if ever. I would like to see however, though this may already be implemented, is the effectiveness scaling off little by little as you get higher and higher. It wouldn't necessarily allow newer players any large margin of winning in a fight, but it would make the window of ganging up on a single person a more viable tactic.

I can punch a single level 10 boar to death, quite possible another one right after that one. When two of them come at me however, the difficulty is much much higher, though I suspect not high enough.

As far as I know, three people with ~70 in combat skills with good weapons is enough to take down most people.

Capping skills is putting a band aid on meningitis but uh, leveling up the combat skills can be done regardless of caps so what you said isn't relevant.

+ if someone is out to kill you and attacks under circumstances you can reasonably expect an attack to occur then you are almost definitely going to die regardless of the quarter million LP you've pissed away into melee.

No it wouldn't ruin the game, most MMO's have skill caps and it seems to work quite well. And if someone did end up raiding you, they would've started
before you, meaning you can never dream of catching up. It's not about being scared, it's about knowing you have no way of even standing a chance
against your raider even if you trained your combat skills from the start.

Anyway I'd like to see skill caps simply because in a game where you play with others, you never should simply be told that you can't be the best just because
you started too late.

Why can't you be the best without skill caps? Seems perfectly possible, there's nothing stopping you from playing 24/7 to be the best.

On the contrary, if two people are both grinding LP and person number one has a head start, person number two can catch up. It'll be incredibly hard, but importantly not impossible as some people have claimed. Person number two just needs to spend more time grinding.
