Odd, I was thinking about a natural disaster, that on cliffs, landslides could happen.
Good side is, people won't randomly set their places somewhere, and atleast look for a stable foundation.

Bears kill.

Already planned.

:)

With this i assume you will then have boiled water to kill the parasites. This would deter people just drinking out of rivers but not stop the usefulness of water in stamina regen.

Disasters would be kind of cool, this particular one seems a bit poorly thought out...
Earthquakes don't remove ore from the ground...

In general I think earthquakes would be one of the least interesting possible disasters. I'd rather see floods and sandbagging :P

EVERYONE WITHOUT SWIMMING DIES IMMEDIATELY (the rest die when their stamina runs out, in like, 5-8 seconds)

hm. I like this idea. though the thought of losing a mine sounds unbearable to me. but yes, it sounds like it could work. a mine tunnel could collapse in and earthquake and yes, when earthquakes occur in the real world, sometimes very rarely, minerals are pushed to the surface. gold is created deep under the earth, it didn't just form where people found it, it was pushed up through the natural shifting of the earths plates. the same goes for gemstones too. (no the game doesn't have gems in it) these things require the pressure found only deep beneath the earths crust. I think this is a fine idea, but losing a mine permanently is just... well its like winning the million dollar lottery then only to have it taken away from you because you were in the wrong spot. as was said earlier, mineral deposits don't just disappear. collapse the mine shaft, but that's it. anybody inside at the time takes some damage, possibly killed, and the survivors can dig themselves out again. I don't think it would be bad to fill in the mined bits with useless spots you have to move to get to your minerals, just to add realism to a mine collapse.

We have mountains, sooo... volcanoes! Earthquakes are much more likely in supergrids containing volcanoes, but so is the chance of mines.
Area immediately around volcanoes supplies ash without having to toast stuff in your kiln to get it.
Supergrids with volcanoes have higher soil quality overall.

Also lava. Also dying in fires.
