You only need the one new one to begin your Brick Wall. Forget having 3 sides. As has been said, raiders will laugh at your 3-sided Brick Wall with a Pallisade down one side. Why even bother building the Brick Wall if you're going to do that?

Guys, look. I appreciate that you give me tips on why I shouldn't building 3 sides of wall, but it's not my point. I asked if it's possible to avoid placing another initial cornerpost. There isn't thanks. But still, admins should think about that.

You only need to place one brick corner post. That's it.

There isn't save for bashing down the walls you're gonna replace the gate with, with a ram.

I still don't get your point, because with your model it should be even cheaper ressource wise to add a fourth wall than to add another initial cp. Also there really is no need for the critique you are having, you seem to be the first person ever who needs something like this.

Well, I would build this 4th wall if (I didn't put this on a drawing) there is a pallisade gate on this 4th wall, so I'd need to put a brick gate as well, and it means placing initial gate agian.

Let me update the drawing:
EXISTING AREA + NEW AREA
O----------------O
|                     |
|                     |O*----|GATE|---O
|                     -                        |
|                    GA                      |
|                    TE                       |
|                     -                        |
|                     |                        |
|                     |O-----------------O
O---|GATE|----O

P.S. And don't get mad that I didn't tell you that before, because I told ya, that I don't want 4th wall, thats enough, isn't it?

Why would I get mad? It is you who screwed up planning his farm, isn't it? ;)

Now I get why you want a cheap cp and tbh I wouldn't mind it either, if you could build a cornerpost, then the gate, then the next cornerpost. Not so important that it needs to be changed though.
New advice:
1.Tear down your whole palisade
2. Make it all brickwall
3. ???
4. Profit

One advantage to building gate without the second post ready - you could build shift-placed walls, so you can wall off a corner next to a cliff (if you want to wall a cave entrance, for example). To avoid people just making gates with one post, make them impossible to open if they don't have two posts.

Though it would be better to just make the god damn cliff edges align with tile edges.

Build your brick wall 2 spaces from the palisade. Just use the sourthern gate for the brick wall. Make a cart path. If you don't want to tear down your palisade.

Or, do what the world eating German says.
