Maybe not steam powered, but pulled by an ochs.

Could require same resources as cart + metal plow + a bit more and would have a container where you can dump stones into (like feeding trough).

When filled you can mount is and drive like with waggon to lay a road.

LP gived would have to be way lower than doing the same manually (or even give no LP at all) since it would be a convenient quick way to build roads.

The pick axe and scythe are best compared to this.

Dig-o-matic? Farm Shredder? Lol, I don't think so.

What I'd like to see is a plow like object you hook up to a horse that harvests any crops on the tiles it moves over, I'm sure they have these in RL but I ferget the name.

Hell yes. And then for those that really need to pave huge roads even quicker there is the solid gold option. Dig-o-matic 4000. Can pave an entire supergrid inside an hour. That way we will have enough carparking space for the next automobile update.
