Apparently Binary isn't so intuitive.

I suppose you could think of it in terms of yes or no and that might explain some things about some of my ex's who weren't so great with computers.

I can suspect that offhand refers in some way to the cursor and holding/not-holding(???), but what I could not possibly imagine is how you expect a toggle for it to be meaningful in any way whatsoever. I can't put a function to it, except "things don't go in your hand ever if you turn this on" which would only be useful if you had a full inventory of seedbags and never otherwise. The simpler solution is to just make poppy flowers and tea leaves go on the ground like fibers and straw already do, which has been suggested before and is much nicer than having the option of dropping a bunch of annoyances from your inventory while clicking crop tiles.

Offhand just doesn't suggest anything at all. True farming improvements would be immediate quality sorting from seedbags by holding ctrl-shift while planting, or some way to separately collect the products so that you don't have to spend all your time sorting crap. I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to collect the seeds, either. Seems like that might produce problems in the form of being a more convenient way to ruin someone's fields (only practical function I can think of besides clearing a field, which is the same thing minus malice).

The most valuable and obvious improvement would be the ability to quickly unload all the seedbags in your inventory to a cupboard/container that you are using. Preferably, this would also sort the quality staring with the highest, but simply unloading all the seeds based on the last ones in would be fine with me*.

*by which, of course, I mean an obvious and necessary function that was seemingly overlooked and should be implemented 5 months ago.

Then you lack imagination. Some people like to mow down all their crops at once then go over picking up the seeds. Some people are annoyed by having to click to remove stuff from their hand once it's there (this is more than just farming).

I probably wouldn't use such a feature but I can understand how others might

I laugh. That's funny. Is that what you do? Can you verify that someone does that? It sound horribly unwieldy, trying to pick up three objects that stack and inconveniently fit almost completely under your character's silhouette. Picking seeds up is a nightmare, especially the last one. Even more so on a bunch of tiles where each has a last one.

An obvious annoyance that should have been implemented for the rare case where crafting produces more inventory, but not to the exclusion of the old inventory system of putting the crafted item in an inventory space freed up by the consumed ingredients. In any other case, specifically farming, all byproducts should fall to the ground (if they wouldn't be lost in doing so).

I am possibly griping about things, but I'm just trying to think of potential abuse and whether something would be a pointless addition or not. If there's a better solution, it should be implemented instead, given consensus.

For the record a bot would slightly prefer no cursor items as they have no problem picking stuff off the ground. It's a pretty trivial difference though

EDIT: jeesus, mobile phone keyboards are crap

Or, you fill your inventory with seedbags, harvest until full, then select to drop all seeds. So, you can harvest your entire field without having to dump twice only to replant one inventory full. Though technically just the "offhand" option would suffice for this. The auto product pickup would be amazing as well. I hate picking up straw and fibers.
