And your graph is opposite of what you're saying.

No it's not.
You probably read it wrong.

no, he's right. your graph should be hyperbolic, not inverse exponential

Promoting pvp: allow everyone to play a meaningful role in combat by removing invincibility

Thanks for correcting me bitza, I removed the graph.
Anyways as I was saying...

as it is the only contribution most players can make is dying or logging out

Balancing combat is one factor. But permadeath is still too punishing, giving me more rewards for avenging or killing would only slightly promote PVP.
The real issue imo is the risk not the reward. Because no matter what I get from killing someone I don't want to risk loosing a large part of my hard earned LP.
I'm not sure how I could solve it without introducing unpopular gameplay mechanics though.

permadeath, high-investment characters, PvP - pick just two

by giving every player the ability of being able to do something about raiders other than logging out, you are in fact "promoting pvp"

also what potjeh said. the fundamentals of H&H gameplay are flawed

I'm noob and i don't like PvP in this game at all. Some idiot can just come and permanently kill me and i will loose my skills. IMHO PvP should be possible only if both players agrees to fight.
About ideas. Create some objects / spells whatever which create special PvP arena. In this arena will be no permadeath. Players can then compare they fighting skills without being afraid of loosing character.

Thats what sparing was for.

EDIT: I should also mention that I highly doubt the devs would ever provide a special PVP arena. They would most likely give us the tools to build it ourselves and run it ourselves. Which means the arena organizer could just stab you in the back anyway if he wanted to. This is suppose to be a sandbox game...

Don't graph rate on the Y axis, graph capability, that makes it logarithmic and you can actually plot people catching up by starting lines at different points

So yeah, more PvP is probably something some people want, I think encouraging random slaughter for kicks is probably not the way to go.
I'd prefer to see proper conflict over resource contention, to do that requires greater village management and more content in terms of resource chains (start building a new one and refuse to link it into the old one at all).
