These might be pixels but you should not judge the value of something to someone else. I keep a Toad around all the time, I've given him a name and while I wouldn't care if you stole all my other shit I'd be thoroughly pissed if you stole my toad. In fact it's probably one of the very few cases where I'd bother to actually track someone down and attempt to kill them.
I advise people not to value pixels to that extreme, it's not really good for you imo.
Anyway who says we have to shorten the time it takes for scents to decay on worthless items?
We could have a base scent decay time for every item stolen, but the time would rise based on value.
Besides if scent decay based on value was introduced, next time someone comes round to steal, they will consider not taking out your valued pearl necklaces and cheese, making it easier for you to recover.
