Pk'ers / Griefer's

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

Get some more experience under your belt before making suggestions on the fundamentals. If you play smart, the griefer can't touch you. A simple palisade takes 2900 strength to break by hand, and nobody has that atm. Sure, they will, but then the devs will just raise the bar further. Which, by the way, is a really stupid way to deal with it IMO, they should just make it completely impossible to break walls without a ram.

And your "simple" way of determining a good cause is not simple at all. What if I clearcut all the unclaimed trees around your village? What if I start building a wall around your claim, but just outside it, to wall you in for shits and giggles? What if I snatch the exchange basket as you're trading with someone on unclaimed land? What if I grief the shit out of your resource spot by overdigging (good luck covering the whole spot with a claim)?

LOL

Go ahead and grief the resources, not everything can get covered in balancing the game, however, Griefing like pallisading around a persons hearth or claim is under the mighty control of Loftar and Jorb as a big no no, as I am sure are other things.

All of the what if's cannot obviously get covered.

The unbalanced PK advantage can be taken into consideration. Palli or not, if a pk wants you he can get you. (gee- can't you shoot through a wall, tree, huge rock etc....) I wouldn't start throwing insults of inexperienced around.

wow, do only the pk'ers flame on here?

people, please read the original post and try to make constructive suggestions rather than ripping apart someone else's in a negative manner.

Dude, take a chill pill. I'm just calling you inexperienced because you obviously don't have a good understanding of the game's mechanics. Nobody is flaming you. We just don't like your suggestion. Not liking your suggestion != flaming.

First of all, a high quality clay spot is worth more than 10 farms and a 50 cows. High quality clay spots are really huge, so claiming them isn't exactly easy. So I damn better be able to kill someone I catch griefing my spot.

And no, walling people in is *not* against the rules, it's building walls over their gates. And it's still not enforced. The devs have neither time nor will to police players. It's what's done in Wurm, and they find it disgusting.

If you build a double layer palisade with the layers spaced wide enough, you can't be shot from outside.

No, only non-pks flame you. That should make you think. Currently there is just no way someone could get you if you play it smart. This sucks quite a bit to be honest. I started to enter each and every claim without a palisade lately and see if I find something useful, just because I sit behind a multilayer brickwall and nobody will ever (never never ever) get inside there. Ok I also took the side of the thief in this scenario, but the fact that I am completely invulnerable has made the game quite a bit boring for me. So don't discourage warfare even further, it is part of the game and with a better combat system (which is the route of all evil) it could be quite fun. It already always was exiting to go on a raid, to get revenge, which you now just cannot do anymore.

That's only because the factions are too small, mostly due to the player population being too spread out. A big faction (ie one containing hundreds of players) could guard a ram for 24 consecutive hours. This is one of the reason I advocate herding players together by limiting fast travel.

You can tell the negative trolls by the amount of posts they have made.

Unfortunately it keeps the intelligent people away.

Therefore, actual forward looking, development based balancing of in game issues will only be recognized and responded to for a better gaming experience by me.

Flaming Trolls.....have your fun.

- calls everyone critizising his idea a troll/flamer while beeing the biggest of all.
- doesn't even have a clue who he is talking with

I'd never join such a huge faction. They are rife with inefficiency, stupid drama, leeches, idiots, cowards and all other kinds of unpleasant individuals that can easily slip under the cracks. They are a management and security nightmare. It ends up requiring people that only take care of the management part with little or no time to actually play the game.

And they still couldn't protect shit for 24 h. All you need is a smaller more focused group to push a big attack during the 24h. It will scare away the noobs though I grant you that.

just because you look at the ground all sad and call people flaming trolls doesnt actually change anything that happened, and right now whats happening is you sulking and saying stuff thats not true while other people actually provide arguments and reasons and discuss. ......
