Yeah different sized gates would be very nice, if they showed as taller it would also be great. Having a single size is pretty ridiculous. In a typical village you may want many 1-tile entries for simply walking through and such ; For example there's an orchard above me, I don't want a grandoise gate, but I don't want to have to walk all the way around from the southern-facing gate to the north to get there ; It's a waste of time. :)

There should be several sized gates ranging from 1tile to at least 6 for grand entrances.

Want... bigger... gates!!
Need... bigger... gates!!

1-6 tile wide gates would so rule. In fact, if possible, you could implement a drag and drop method to choose how wide we want it from the get go, and have it where it adds x resources for y size gate.

Drawbridges would rule too. I want moats, dammit!! I will have a Mont and Bailey!! I need to stop screaming things!!

Just include bigger gates as well and then we are geared for future implementations, whatever they may be.

Yeah, wider gate's is a good idea, hell, some times a cart is difficult to get in and out so 6 tiles would do the trick for sure. draw bridge is a good idea to, but if your going that far then making a simple motte-and-bailey or even a palisade with ring-wall and moat would be nice to. Enter a special engineering skill.
