You totally missed my point. I'm not against the idea of making a hole and filling it with water, but I can't agree with the way you are trying to sell it: "a pool that is meant for swimming that increases happiness", because that idea seems useless to me.

Now, making ponds as in digging some land and filling it with water sounds like an interesting idea, but there are some problems with this: if the pond or "pool" is made of shallow water tiles it means you can pick water from it, so you could make a pond next to your house and in turn make wells completely useless. So, this pond would either need finite water (as in, it can dry up) or a new kind of water tile which is meant for swimming but can't be used to fill buckets.

I question your ability to read a whole paragraph =/. For bathing, also. Swimming in the pool could also increase stamina. Not to mention, great for celebrations.
And even if so, nothing is bad with a decorative item.

Pool is a bit too modern for my taste, but a sauna would be sweet.

~Also, I've stated that it would need to be maintained, if you care to read the full paragraph. :c

Also, if I must say again, its not a modern pool, a hole with water used for bathing.
Please, fellas. Read the forum before you type .__.

So sorry, totally missed that part. That changes things completely, bathing turns pools into something useful, of course!

Sup chairs, how you doing?

I would take functional over decorative any day, to be honest.

You obviously think this idea is fantastic and can't really see anything wrong with it, so discussing it any further would be pointless. :)

The Romans had public bath houses, I don't see anything wrong with having something similar. Though I agree an obvious swimming pool with diving board or whatever would feel out of place. ;)

Of course.
Swimming pool like objects were in no-way unheard of in midieval times. Heck, they even made generic hot spring pools. (Jacuzzi)
Now, where 'dem officials at.

Seems as though it mostly falls under terraforming, you should look it up, several issues with it happening soon, but I'm hoping it does.
