I am planning on making it so that you can be logged in multiple times on the same account simultaneously. It isn't even very hard in itself; it is auxiliary issues that have been keeping me from implementing it. (Nothing that cannot be fixed, but I haven't wanted to do it half-heartedly.)

Will this also give the ability to parallel-play the same character?

I did consider the idea, of course, but I didn't even manage to come up with any definition of what it would actually mean to do so. ;)

Would be simple: have 2 (or more) instances run the same toon.
What is currently streamed to one client is simply distributed to all connected to it.
All input from the clients is joined together and processed FIFO.

hmm.... now for a usecase...

It could make sense for ingame training, so someone else could show you how to actually do stuff with your toon:
like explain how the combat system works by doing actual fighting, or assist newcomers with the option to not only talk them through stuff but showing them.

Other usecase could be shared gatekeepers (so multiple people could login to it to have it open/close the gate) or village ambassadors (party people in 'nople f.ex.).

Granted, the idea is a bit rough. Nevertheless: anyone and constructive comments on it (as usual: please spare me the f-word answers).

On the other hand, as long as the original owner's e-mail account isn't cracked as well, he can always use the password reset function to wring himself back in control of the account.

Hmm, I guess I assumed that the email was changeable in account settings as well, but it appears I was wrong. Touche.
