Not all the time, no. A newbie character could get knocked out a hundred times and still be alive and kicking if the RNG acts in their favor.

Fellow Hearthlings,

Are we not of one blood? Do we not share of the apple? And as such, are we not committed to furthering the advancement of our kind?

For as long as we allow petty ambitions to rule us, we shall never achieve true Progress. We stand upon the precipice of great oppurtunity. Abandon your sorrow, your anger, your worldy cares... step forward and embrace eternity! That is the path to Enlightenment.
Please don't cut down my forest.

ANYWAY..

Blaze and I have the most to lose, perhaps Milaha, and Rift aswell. -

I'm cool with a character reset as long as the highbies, and I mean all of us, Get something unique, account wide, available from all characters. Something that wont affect the games actual mechanics, even something visual would be nice.

Lycanthrope would be cool. Comes with its own risks too, how could players distinguish you from another animal? Hmm, I guess that would be an issue. But still smething visual would be nice.

Otherwise if Im not gona get something in return for the effort, I'm dead set against a pwipe.

I dont understand why "highbies" would get recognition over "longbies". It think it's a terrible idea because if i wanted i could boost my own str through the ceiling in a week or so with the current str food.
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Yes. This is what we need.

The plan for the reset is awesome, but crop specialization and port cities are the things that I most want to see, and I think they're going to do leaps and bounds for the game.

Wow, I got a reply. I was starting to think that that only way to get a reply on this forum was to post something like:
"Goons are trolls!" or
"We need a server reset!" or
"Bottleneck is a failed society populated by shorties!"
Lol
But thanks, Krantarin.
BTW, I believe none of the three statements above. Well, maybe the shorties bit. But that's all.

I'm 6'5"

Anyway, I agree that it'd be best for the players to get map update and skill system overhaul (and thus character wipe) at the same time. I'm not so sure it'd be best for the devs, though. Cramming two features as big as those into one release makes it harder to iron out the bugs, I think. And completing one feature and then waiting for another before you can release the first one and get feedback and bug reports on it would be a bit frustrating.

In conclusion, I think that map resets and character resets should come when it's most convenient for the devs, not when we want them.

This is likely to be a development focus in the near future. Getting two character wipes in short succession would be a bit frustrating, so I think it's best not to do one with the map reset.

Not reset just remort. reallocate invested LP from existing character tree and putting it into LP instead of the stats.
Unset all learned skills and convert them into LP

This would allow old characters to retain their invested LP.

Look, reset isnt necessary because the added dangers will likely kill us. I've basically ass raped my character by overpowering into Strength, This limits my growth in other attributes, don't you get it?

I wont be able to punch a fucking eagle, and even if I get a bow I wont be able to land many hits. So get a brain.

Forced reset isnt necessary because as the game grows, dangers will grow aswell, and with unlimited Mordor, that means stronger beasties. Stronger beasties means far enough they will likely KILL you if you get knocked out. Thats a character wipe as far as Im concerned.
