My character drowned, please change swimming!

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

We should make a list of topics where the moral of the story is ``Never Buy Swimming!!''

Unless wyrd is implemented in some fashion and the "marching" skill thing is still available.
Just maybe.

Drowning!!!!

Postby zyl3nc3 » Sat Jul 03, 2010 8:34 am

Ok as some of you may know the conext of drowning is that your character loses all of it's stamina while swimming.... OK i get this but i have been playing for a week straight
i had MMS 50 UAC 40 CARP 40 FARM 30 Surv 40 melee 20 and all of this was taken away from me becuase of some lame lag and wrong hotkey pressed... Now this to my oppinion is BS. Seriously I love this game but it's things like this that make you wanna rant incoherently about crappy skill w/e what have you. I don't find anything wrong with the swimming skill but i would like that if you lose your stamina how bout taking the remnants from your hunger bar till you starve becuase quite frankly losing a char over lag is bad enough... For future Hearthlings please change this system i don't want to bow out of this yet if you guys would see to my misfortune and please re-incarnate my char send me a PM so i may tell you the account and PW so you can acces my data and see what i'm talking about. Thanks for the awesome time playing this shame lag and a over-demanding skill cost all my hard work to go down the drain.

How'd you just accidentally press it, from what I remember when I had it you also need to actually click OK in the box...

Secondly, you should really read, don't even BUY swimming until you have 90 CON, don't even USE it until you have much more...

Make drowning cost more LP as an extra deterrent to people from getting it.

It serves a purpose currently in allowing people to quickly kill new characters to raise personal beliefs without leaving scents for killing them on their main.

Lol is raising beliefs quickly intended? Because I thought it was an exploit.

It would be classified as an exploit most likely sure. There's an easier way to do it though, the only benefit here is the not leaving scents.

That's interesting, it let you swim before the box came up and you actually checked the box?

I think this would be solved if Swimming didn't have a hotkey AT ALL and was only clickable, as well as requiring you to actually click "YES" on the box (I thought this was required, lag or not it shouldn't have let you swim).

Really the thing is, you are warned when you buy swimming, and the toggle is simply an extra warning, on top of that if you read the forums all guides will tell you NOT to buy swimming. :/

It's pretty hard to ignore all these signs unless you're careless in which case, well, this game won't work well for them.
