Kind of sad that I'll lose all my stats, considering I only started playing a few days ago and I've already got the important stuff learned, but I'll deal with it. Anyways, Any ETA until the new map + char wipe?

And in this thread, I hear about these God like Characters that are whinging like 5yr olds who don't want their toys taken away from them, god. GROW UP! How old are you people, 13, 15???
What???
No way you could be 20+ cause if you can't handle the folks that want to fall in love with this game like you did, asking that the devs can restart characters so that everyone starts on even footing in the Change to BETA, then gee you just make me feel great. This game is wonderful don't get me wrong, but I don't want to see the 4hr nothing again, I don't want to see someone spawn on the first day and drop a claim and everything to be a god down within minutes of play on a new map...

It seems to me there are two types of player - those who are likely to attack or rob me and my friends, and those who will not. The latter type can be as godlike as they want, without it bothering me in the slightest. The former mostly aren't that high level, because they eventually attack or rob someone who PKs them. So there are very few high level players whose existence bothers me.

I also rather prefer higher level players as neighbours, though that's partly because of their experience. They tend to have a long term attitude, are much more likely to be co-operative neighbours, and rarely mess up the landscape.

So why can't you fall in love with the game while there are people notably bigger than you?

p.s. the new map is not a change to beta; it's still going to be alpha, at least as far as I know. It's just a new map.

ooh, z axis, that'd be neat. Is that actually something the dev's are looking at? I'd love to hear more about it (It seems to me the only reasonable way of having waterfalls)

So are you going to do it like doom did it's z axis? (only one continuous surface, no overhangs or tunnels)

so the ridges become ACTUAL ridges, and in some places there is a gradient that you can walk up or a fixed 'ramp' tile that lets you get onto the next plateau?

Eagle looks pretty cool too, look forwards to seeing the flood of new critters now we have path finding.

As long as the devs are later able to soup the system up with Floor over Floors, then yes.

You don't think it would be an improvement without that? Personally I think it would be an improvement for the aesthetics alone

I agree. I have played for quite a bit, and I have never been bothered by any "god" characters, hell, I have only encountered the big named ones a handful of times. In some ways, their presence prevents total anarchy because there is always someone a would-be murderer can fear.
