Biologically it doesn't, but as a social construct it does.

Exactly. And since people don't have different appearances according to their origins IRL, obviously we don't need different skin tones in H&H.

Am I the only one who thinks the OP is quite the genius troll for posting this in the C&I forum?

Race is a set of appearance features, one of which is skin colour.

Race is a classification

Everything is a classification. That's how abstract thinking works.

Its not nordic, its angloid or something. Its been well over three years since Ive bothered doing heavy lifting in the realm of Physical anthropology. Race, is a social construct. An Ecocline is not. Ecoclines are sets of specialized adaptations a given species develops over a range of habitats. Skin color, facial features. These are adaptations in response to the enviroment. You're average joe only picks up on them in people because well, he is a human. If he looked at two Deer, one from lets say Florida, and one from, Toronto area. He wouldn't be able to pick up on much difference beyond size. HOWEVER, to the two deer it would be like an asian man meeting a a redhead.

Some posters here do have an actual point though.
From what I can see what bothers most people whom are against this idea, is that different skin tones ruin their immersion in the game.
That's understandable, but at the same time it's not fair.
As has already been said, tobacco is not regional to the game but it could've annoyed a few players.
Also it has been said that this game is a fantasy, therefore it could allow us to have a looser leash on reality, and various skin tones.

Besides it might not be as a big of a deal as you may take it. I've played numerous medieval MMO's that allow you to be any skin tone, and (apart from the players that painted themselves in red or purple) it did no harm to my immersion and belief that I'm in a genuine medieval setting.
What shouldn't be changed is what the game is about and the idea of it, and things would be fine.
