Actual genetic breeding, aka colour breeding and the like, would be awesome.

I'm sure implementing rabbits in hutches wouldn't be hard seeing as it would mostly just be like chickens... =D

I want this, but the hutches should be harder to make than coops, as chickens won't give you furs.

but chickens give feathers, which are used for fishing and feather beds, and I'm sure its not that hard to find more uses for these as well, plus let us not forget about eggs

so if the ballance with a coop is the only thing, you could think of expanding the usefullness of a coop, though eggs are kind of useful already
