They should be able to wipe whenever they want. It is an ALPHA . :o

ANYWAY..

Blaze and I have the most to lose, perhaps Milaha, and Rift aswell. -

I'm cool with a character reset as long as the highbies, and I mean all of us, Get something unique, account wide, available from all characters. Something that wont affect the games actual mechanics, even something visual would be nice.

Lycanthrope would be cool. Comes with its own risks too, how could players distinguish you from another animal? Hmm, I guess that would be an issue. But still smething visual would be nice.

Otherwise if Im not gona get something in return for the effort, I'm dead set against a pwipe.

That's stupid. You're stupid. This is an alpha. Character wipes should be going on regularly, but they're not because the devs are so fucking scared that the highbies are going to throw a tantrum that they've basically crippled their opportunities for growth. I'm not even sure how to explain how stupid you are, except that you don't understand the first thing about getting new players into the game, and are demanding special treatment because you spend 16 hours a day online punching bears to death.

You shouldn't get anything for effort. Not in an alpha, unless you're actually doing something substantive -- hardcore bugfinding in a way that is beneficial to the devs, for example, and not just "let me grind grind grind and go around throwing my weight around because I'm clearly superior to everyone else".

I invite both the devs and the players to come onto IRC so some actual instant discussion could happen

My suggestion? Take your character wiping argument to a separate thread, as you're not contributing to the OP.

Self-serving arguments aside, I'm positive that, if the situation were reversed, they'd be pushing to keep them.

As for myself, I'd be very disappointed if all the work I put into my character were to disappear, especially since I did so believing that the Devs would bring them to the next map as they have stated before. Then again, I also accept that this is their decision.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Nice vision of how you want the world map and the game to be, I'm really looking forward to seeing how all this goes. I'm really looking forward to seeing much vaster expanses of varied wilderness between settlements. When I started playing the world seemed huge, my original home so close to the standing stones is testament to that, but now not so much. Keep up the good work Jorb and Loftar :D.

Indeed and they've said they wont do it unless they have to and if they have to some compensation will be made to those who have lost all that effort.

The thing with a character reset is that those who are currently most powerful are that way because they play a lot, its not like a reset will stop them doing it again and then the problem, if you want to call it that, is back again. I do wonder though why nobody who has a problem with these guys doesn't brew some beer and make some cheese, up your stats, get some of the many scents and smash their walls down and dish out some punishment. Maybe I'm missing something here?

That should not be used as a defense, if that is true then you have no worries of this thread swaying them to resetting.
But as you guys are always using that as a defense it seems you are worried that the people who would enjoy starting from scratch, toughing it out against foxes and all that may sway the devs.
