The 'haircut' can be abstracted and the hairstyle an expression of belief. When you're scalped it just takes time to get back to where it was and you run around bald or with short hair for a week or two.

I like the idea of more flexibility in appearance as well. But Chak hit on something. Although Slavic era peoples probably didn't do it I think scalping people after killing them would be cool, a trophy as it were, to adorn the entrance of the villages.

But yeah, more flexibility in hairstyles however it's implemented.

Scalping is actually cutting the scalp off someone's head as a brutal trophy of war. Shaving someone bald is a time-honored mischievous prank.

From that point it would grow back over time, probably just in a single or double step from bald to some hair to previous style. Hair maintenance doesn't add anything to the game but effectively more decay repair, which is a symptom of a bad attempt at making a game addictive through negative incentive. Also, decay will be changed.

Grooming goes hand in hand with bathing. Anyone want to build, maintain and use a hearthshower?

eh i figured it would only take about 30 seconds or less, and no cost to the player to cut hair.

players obviously need to be able to learn the barber skill and be able to cut other people's hair if they stand still long enough (consensual) or if they are ko'd (non consensual)

We should also be able to draw penis's on a KO'd person.

And then engrave it into their skulls, and mount upon a stick for all raiders to reconsider.

you know, on a more serious note, they used to tattoo criminals to identify them... could be an option?

Just have the characters sprites flash red in game if someone committed a crime.

This is such a bad idea. Maybe you should lurk a bit more.

Just an add on to Sab's idea about tatooing the criminals so he must lurk a bit more with me :P

then say so. because as it is, it looks like "have the characters sprites flash red in game if someone committed a crime."
