Not too often, but it does happen. Also, that rule may encourage people to post multiple ideas in the same thread.

If they feel their suggestion is important enough to share, they can wait to make a thread for it. Perhaps in that time they'll think it over more or do a little searching.

It's not like any of this stuff is time-sensitive material that needs to get out Out OUT right now

I would guess that the people needlessly posting multiple threads are a minority. Perhaps the limit could be imposed as a punitive measure.

If you're going to go that route, might as well make a whitelist for recognized contributors.

A blacklist would be counterproductive as the aim is to provoke more thoughtful posting and lighten moderation, not add more of it.

That is a possibility. I was thinking that the different levels might create a feeling of classes, but I guess this already kind of exists. Perhaps more important is that privileges go to people who deserve them, rather than going exclusively to friends. Deciding who deserves to be on the whitelist may be a job in itself. Currently the forum freedom kind of reflects the freedom in the game, which is cool.

thats why i'd rather just have cooldowns affect all forumers equally

Why punish everyone for a few people's actions? You should just have an option to temper those who do abuse their freedom.

The restriction should be 1~2 days accumulated in played time.
