Note: Prion diseases are not as common from eating the meat of your own kind as you'd like to think. And, if one specifically avoids the organs, and sticks to the meat, you're almost entirely safe.

And while that hardly matters for the purpose of the game, it is necessary to point out that the prevalence of prion-diseases from ingestion of human flesh is overblown. A reasonable response for something that is curiously held as a social taboo. Another important point to ponder is that one must first be infected with a prion disease before it can be passed on. Clean meat will keep you safe.

Already suggested this once, methinks.

Like I said in that post, Cannibalism needs to have clear advantages, but clear disadvantages as well. Something to make the player-base shun those who practice it. Maybe aura that you can see when tracking scents or something.

This was also quite cool way to approach the idea:

Severian and Jonas attend a dinner with Vodalus where they consume the dead Thecla's flesh, which, when combined with an alien substance, allows Thecla's memories to live within Severian.

Bonus points to first who can spot the author/series without googling.
