I think he means Ice fishing...just a very poor description. And actually I would be all for at least the availability of Ice. It could make for some awesome things like mixtures of chilled, fruit and honey desserts, not unlike the Romans would do. Also, I would love for some seasons and wonderful things like game availability and snow.

I think when you dig ice, you would rather break the ice and fall in the freezing water and drown or freeze to death.

Ice is like glass, i dont think you can dig in glass or windows without breaking them :p

I want supergrip that have bigger mudflats or larger mountain, swamps etc.
with this you get a different region with each supergrid.
Thats easy to do, iirc they where some supergrips with large mudflats in W2, while W1 was mostly grassy.
So its possible to do.

So your saying Ice water would be much safer then normal water ;)

Seriously though, yes people can and do safely cut into ice and make holes in it without it shattering like glass, it floats after all. Any hole formed should probably be temporary, when 'decay' hits it then it turns back to ice but untill then you can fish or get water from it. Swimming it in could be made more hazardous then normal though it's not necessary.

Soil digging problem fixed... For the russians, i suppose.

What about Canadians...? We could take the north-west part of the map, and have occasional ice-storms.

Centre of the map, of course, being Europe and surrounding areas.
