Thanks for taking the high road with your replies guys. This thread has nothing to do with Potjeh or the Green Team. I was simply using the quote as an explanation and example of what spurred my interest in the idea. Never once did I say that there was abuse, simply that the idea of spawning 300 empty characters seems like a waste and that it might be detrimental to the server.

Although people can legitimately run virtual machines and macro on said VM...
The only number of character slots needed is 5 I think... Any more and you basically use them for other uses other than being a main character (farming alts, etc.).
Clearly, there needs to be a session ID for each account and it should take the ip involved.
Rather than letting people multiclient as they wish, improve on the log out functionality so you can switch accounts faster.
So if multiple accounts are logged on, and all of them come from one IP, then you can force logout on the "older" session clients.
Obviously people can spoof their IP address... But why would they bother if they play the game normally?
Why would anyone bother at botting a alpha game anyways?loftar wrote:It is not detrimental to the server. :)
No, but that doesn't mean others can't exploit it. In game design, don't you have to follow certain rules when it comes to securing your own game?
