Because you wall yourself in with your embarrassment at tagging along.
You should go with them or form a party of mid level characters and stop your whining.

All I seem to hear from you Kobnach is "It's too hard for me, make it easier" never "I'm going to work together with others to overcome challenges and better my situation"

This is definitely not an uncommon sentiment. Kobnach, stop trying to solo endgame content.

"Endgame"?

We're talking about requiring thousands of hours of gaming to take part in even the most basic economic activities.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to want to have a significant effect on the game-world (by which I mean being able to provide trade goods, fill some role in a community such as a baker or hunter or so on) after having spent a couple months playing, not years.

This is definitely not a finished game by any stretch of the imagination, so don't think that someone showing how it can be improved, even subjectively, is not trying to help.

More to the point, there are only a few dozen players at most who are able to fully use the new content. If that is the "endgame" population, fine, but there's a whole population of hundreds who are pretty much locked out of the fun parts of the game and have to grind their way up doing the same boring stuff for literally years. If those of you who feel that such things as Mining and Crafting and Farming and Hunting and Towns and Exploration and Swimming are "end-game" stuff hear this from the Dev Duo directly, perhaps you could ask them to provide something for those with lives to do instead?
Surprise.

What? I don't know what you think basic economic activities are, but there's plenty of people in Brodgar who are doing pretty well and they just started, fresh of the boat...

I've been playing a few months, I am able to provide trade goods and fill a role within my community, I very much doubt Kobnatch could not also do so if he chose. I think you're ignoring the content of this discussion that's been going on here.

I do not believe making things easier for Kobnach is an improvement. I disagree with his complaints and suggest that he adjust his play style and his expectations.

Don't speak on the behalf of others. I'm enjoying content available to new starters, I don't regard playing the game as a grind. I suspect many share my position, but I don't presume to speak for the majority.

Farming is not end game, Hunting is not end game, Towns are not end game.
Swimming is end game, Exploration is mid game with a party or End game if you want to solo it.

I have played for less than two months, and right now I can do anything in game if I really want to. I am not a super character, I just play well with others.
