Actually, there are now some excessively civilized spots in other supergrids, as well as spots in the main super grid with plenty of trees.

Well, obviously if your strong enough to handle it, but most people who can handle lv X animals can swim a 6 tile river, unless your wearing Blaze gear, then you'll drown.

Building bridges over rivers is no small feat. and building bridges that can support carts is even more difficult.

There should be a MASSIVE requirement to building bridges, and they would naturally require maintenance.

Yup, I moved to lvlX turf when I had 11 strength and 14 markmanship. I almost died more times than I can count the first 2 days, but once you have a fence set up, you're good to go and the challenge of it is a hell of a lot of fun.

... I still can't just go for a walk-about, even the foxes still whip me 6-love - lol

please explain why, when boats are likely to come in handy more often than bridges

imo it should really depend on the length, width and material of the bridge

Town Bridges

Postby Caradon » Tue Nov 24, 2009 1:20 am

I understand that Jorb and Loftar do not wish to develope bridges that can be merely cast all over.

Which is why they should be built only across rivers within the village range. They should require a fair bit of materials. They shouldn't get in the way of boats.

It would allow for massive highway developement for carts. and make travel easier.

Part of the problem as I understand it is that currently there IS no way to prevent bridges from blocking boats.
Surprise.

The issue is coming about a good way that allows both bridges and boats to coexist properly.
It would probably be easy to set it up so boats can pass through bridges, but doing it in a way that looks and feels right is harder.
