Have the happiness meter actually mean something, so if you do the same task over and over (botting) you could die from repetitive sadness.

forage bot >> farm bot >> forage bot >> clay digger

More trolls (in mines)
Friendlier combat system
Scents last a month
better siege equipment.. more city defenses towers etc
oceans (which need bigger boats to cross)
removing teleport..all..hearts..village heart..cr...If you want to go somewhere go by Horse or boat or balloons (ballloons will get you there quick but depend on a wind system)
roads (better system)
alts are born from real people..you want an alt..find a mate and grow one like a cow..not instants alt like pop pop pop pop...charish your alt euh child.. Stats from alt (child) are male/woman/2. So the better you are..the better your alts (euh children)

Proper trade mechanics.
Political mechanics.

Real towns. Real factions. Real roads. Real civilization vs. wilderness.

Everybody is scattered and hiding behind brick walls. It sucks.

Not everybody - :P

In all three worlds i've played now, I have never hidden behind my walls, i'm out and about everyday and on my main too - I honestly don't see the point in playing if i'm just going to sit in the village, no fun exploring, no danger, no excitement and no meeting other players = boring! :D

As for a better HnH - I like Xcoms suggestions, some things take way too long. I can understand it when it comes to cutting down tree's or crafting an item but picking something takes all of 1 second and is hardly realistic. The timer could be shortened in many instances even if left for the more arduous things.

And, as always, more craftables ( particularly furniture and decor) and more variety in foragables and their use, where are mushrooms for cooking or flowers for vases/gardens? Why can't we craft bear rugs? And caves need a major injection of life, plants don't really grow in deep caves due to lack of sunlight but there are plenty of creatures that do and to that we can add jewels, different types of rock, mosses and fungi near the entrances. All of these could have various uses including, curio's, crafting, building and healing.

Some people have suggested minigames - I don't know where you'd find the time to play them, lol, but apart from that, I honestly don't think they would suit hnh and in some ways 'cheapen' it.

Have you ever played Puzzle Pirates or other similar games? Everything is accomplished through minigames. How well you determines how well you produce at your task, so playing and being good at the minigames are essential.

No, i've never played Puzzle Pirates, I was thinking more along the lines of the minigames in FF for example or the 'ant wars' or something that someone suggested in another thread, all of which suit games like FF and make a welcome break from endless fighting and missions.
Maybe task and production orientated minigames would be different, idk, it just seems like it would interupt the flow and 'realism' of a game like HnH, I guess i'd have to play a game like Puzzle Pirates in order to see if it changes my mind. :)

Unless you're really into puzzle games, avoid it. It was fun a few years ago, but it's just dying off. I keep trying to get back into it again, but there's a distinct lack of organized play anymore. Devs have semi-abandoned it.

I know Free Realms has some mini-game based gathering for mining and farming, but it's a kid-based game. I played during the beta test while I was still active in EQ/EQII. If you have kids or young family members to play with, its worth the time, but otherwise the crowd is too young to hang out in.

I've ran across a couple others, but can't recall them off the top of my head.

The problem with mini-game based "work" is that it is still bottable, just harder the more complex games the games get. Make it too complex and nobody but the ubernerds (like myself) enjoy it.

I wouldn't want neither Minigames nor Quests in HnH
