I think you are both right. Paying for protection, and then advertising that fact, is going to minimize the likelihood of being attacked/thefted/griefed.

But on the other hand, it could still happen, and if it does, the knowledge that those responsible will be hunted down and killed is cold comfort for losing all your work and time in the game...

I am not advocating or opposing any changes to the game, mind you.

The fact of this all is that Gaiadin had a PVP toggle, it was called not leaving scents and not logging into a fucking town filled with goons when your buddy has warned you so.
You stated before you did it out of anger, your loss.

Not that I think your posts are really worth responding to Delamore but I should clarify that I intended for the PvP toggle to prevent hostile acts against you and your property. I should have made that clear, my bad. If my village wasn't participating in PvP I wouldn't have needed to defend it. What's done is done. My goal is to assist in the betterment of the game's future.

I'll modify the OP to reflect this sentiment.

yeah lets just remove all the black arts from the game, obviously the devs never intended for people to steal or kill

lol! I give up. Clearly I'm outmatched here. My evil plot to remove PvP from the game entirely is foiled. It is clear to all that, rather than being interested in what could possibly attract a new player to a sandbox game where everything they do will inevitably be for naught, I am simply QQing about my own misfortune. Carry on the mindless lawless gank-fest, and good luck keeping new players interested.
