I agree, jigsaw inventories are an awkward relic of antiquity. Abstracted single-slot items and item stacking are the norm nowadays for good reason.

It would be an improvement to see inventory shift over to a weighted system where pack quality would increase the maximum weight, as Chakravanti suggested. Could even add bonuses to the maximum weight for things like empty hands and small bonuses for certain attributes.

People like to go off topic around here i see. All I am asking for is a smaller pumpkin with slightly less seeds/flesh so that you don't have to stop and shift click every seed into a seedbag and store the flesh before you can pick another pumpkin.

Even if they reduced the size of each to 2x2 they could have you pick 2-3 pumpkins at a time each with 2-3 seeds and flesh and have seeds separate into your bags automatically. I mean some of the numbers can be switched around so you don't get too little/too much per plot you harvest. At best it makes your inventory more manageable when harvesting pumpkins without messing with any other systems.

Personally I'm fine with the inventory how it is now, just not with the way pumpkins works because this is a thread about pumpkins and not every other related mechanic.

ok so if they made pumpkins 2x2 with 2 seeds and 2 flesh and you harvest 3 at a time that would be an improvement? how? so you could harvest 2 tiles instead of one at a time, and have less produce from each tile?

I did say 2-3 seeds. So it could be anywhere from 6-9 seeds/flesh per tile. Sometimes it will be less and sometimes a little more, but either way you can manage your inventory much better.

I mean they could make it have 2x2 tiles and 3 seeds/flesh per pumpkin and full nature gets a chance for 3 pumpkins.

I don't understand why people are so opposed to this idea, i mean they don't even have to reduce the ammount you get per pumpkin. My main point is that you can only harvest 1 pumpkin tile at a time due to your 5x6 (max) inventory and a 4x4 pumpkin and that the seeds don't automatically go into bags when you slice the pumpins. I only suggested reduced produce per pumpkin because right now you get 8 seeds and 8 flesh for a 4x4 tile so it takes up the same ammount of space when cut.

the opposition i think lies in that it's easier to just slice the one pumpkin and shiftclick the seeds and flesh into containers than it would be with the way you suggest.
