This is about rebalancing, not just increasing how filling food is. The tradeoff will be that it takes longer to produce food. Having to eat such large quantities so often is strange and boring. Eating 50 apples to recover from starvation...

Another way would be to discourage stockpiling food. A deer gives enough meat to feed a few people, but you cant keep it around forever even if you smoke/salt it. So you keep hunting.

The only problem with that is people who don't play often, depending on how long things should last. I can't really rationalize any number of days without it seeming pointless or unreasonable.

Under that sort of system, finished products would keep for much longer than raw foods.

Actually from my fairly limited replay at low levels, I found it much easier to keep myself fed than previously... Bunnies, chickens and fishing proved to be viable alternative to apples and mulberries.

Actually fishing was a bit crap, because I kept using lots of stamina digging for worms which would make me hungry quicker lowering the all around efficiency of fishing for food. Maybe if I used lures / bred silk moths for bait.

Maybe you could make food less common to get but it fills you up for a long period of time. Which saves the constant clicking to eat.

Or fished near a swamp. Leeches make good bait.

lures and leeches are way better, use the worms that you'd get from digging if you need dirt but yeah actively seeking out worms isn't worth it

Interesting, and probably appropriate, that the most intuitive thing to do that noobs will try first is probably the least effective, but still works a little bit :P

this time, i fully agree ^^

sorry for nitpicking, but in the OP you only mentioned a rebalance of FEP. So i assumed you were supporting the idea that food should be used mainly for FEPs, not so much for basic survival.
