I liked the idea someone had about having "the scent of justice" or whatever it was, where crimes committed due to tracking scents from your own claim/village didn't leave scents of their own.

I guess one way to shift some balance toward non pvp players would be to treat combat and non-combat skills differently in inheritance . . .

you don't actually need even the rage skill to defend yourself, and you don't actually need the murder skill to kill someone (it makes it a lot faster though)

personally, if i see raiders i'd indeed run for the hills. If your village is invaded, get all them hunters back there and hope you kill some of them to make them think twice next time. Warn other towns (use this board) and organize hunting parties. In other words, dont cry that experienced man killers can kill a village of farmers, but do something about it

yes, do something! i, personally, dont have any experience with melee combat in general, or pvp in particular. but i do understand the combat system isn't fair, but ppl need to stop whinning. everyone should plan for evacuation routes in case of a raids. the gaurds and milita and whatever will hold them back for as long as possible, while the non-combatants and the important ppl run away. then the survivors can retaliate.

Are you people for real? Raids usually happen something like someone breaks a wall in some remote place, everyone who is unlucky enough to be online gets picked one by one and dies and then it's time for camping the idol (unless they prefer leveling the place to the ground). Holding them back evacuation lolz you idiots watch too many movies.

dont forget how everyone looks alike so the only way you can tell someone is a raider, at a glance, is from them carrying weapons or you having a small enough pop to kin all your members

This sorta reminds me of dungeon keeper and how they tried to deal with invaders. You could pick up any monsters on your side and then drop them on top of the intruder's head, so long as they were on *YOUR* territory. That might not be so bad of an idea, have a call to arms option that, as long as it's on the village claim, summons the villagers around the intruder in question.

Or it could be a terrible idea that causes a bunch of new players to be hopelessly mauled by a high level raider. Besides, usually travel to hearth combined with stating "Red spy is in the base!" in the party chat is enough for anyone with two brain cells to rub together.

I haven't heard anyone say anything about suggesting traps, but I assume that's likely because the devs want home defense to be player vs. player oriented. Correct me if I'm wrong, please?

ofcourse i watched too many movies. Anyway, if the village doesnt somewhere have its own forum to communicate that they have been attacked, it doesnt deserve to survive

I think notorious killers etc should be more readily recognized, instead of the standard ???

Yea, you know how that happens? You fucking go out and meet other people, who describe to you villains that they have memorized.

Or suffer, and die in obscurity.
