a supergrid is 5000x5000 tiles = 25,000,000 tiles
5x5 supergrids = 25 supergrids = 625,000,000 tiles = 4.3 trees / 625 tiles = tree density of 0.68%
7x7 supergrids = 49 supergrids = 1,225,000,000 tiles = 4.3 trees / 1225 = tree density of 0.35%
so i think the estimate of 4.3 million trees is a little low
probably yea. but you also have to figure trees are thinner in grasslands and non existent in a lot of other terrains.
[02:36] <L4> Assuming a conservative 70 trees per minimap...
[02:36] <L4> There are 1750 just on a local map
[02:36] <L4> 43750 on a regional.
[02:36] <L4> Regional is... um shit, I forget
[02:36] <L4> 4th of a supergrid?
[02:37] <feri> I have no idea :3
[02:37] <L4> yep
[02:37] <L4> 175000 trees per supergrid
[02:38] <L4> And at present there are...
[02:38] <feri> 25 supergrids.
[02:38] <L4> 4375000 trees.
edit: yea i just read through that and he did the math wrong anyway. one local map is 16 minimaps so 1120 trees. 28000 on a regional. 112000 per grid. 2.8 million total.
