Then it's a simple matter to make a new alt and do it all over again, griefing many while losing relatively little.

IMO, victims should never lose more LP/attributes than what the murderer had. This would at least mitigate the issue somewhat.

In return the village can set up a macro program as well to set up warrior alts. And not to mention the raider actually gains little in terms of strength since he is focusing on the alt and not the main. And god forbid if he goofs up and ended up being located. What you need is a few people well training in combat to fend off.

I do see your point though. I mean Ravenholm, Eyrie, and the Tricities were attacked one by one and sacked before something was done about it. What bites even more is the possibility of them being alts. Unfortunately I have not been able to think of a solution so far.

The fact that others can also macro out warrior alts does not really protect their mains from being ganked in any way. It remains true that people are losing months of progress to alts which take days to make and mere hours of effort actually actively playing.
And even if warrior alts could somehow stand guard next to their mains 24/7, the availability of third-party macro programs should never be viewed as the solution to any problem.

That is true but until there is a game mechanic that is implement to counter against macro, it will have to be used. In the second world it was much easier with infinite fruits on trees and infinite branches/barks/etc. Imagine a macro that eats from an apple tree then uses a q200 birch bark for kuksa for LP. The other problem is the fact that it is less likely for criminals to be punished since they can hide behind a strong wall, as well as making people quit from losing a lot of work from the death thus no one coming to do anything about the crime.
