Many more hits too, searched 'stone wall', you could probably refine that further.

I've been playing this game for about a week (love it, btw :D) , but the first thing I noticed was a lack of stone walls. As the OP suggested, just a simple, small wall to fend off animals and allow us to save our fledgeling farms. perhaps something akin to a roundpole fence, but slightly stronger? Being Irish, I am used to seeing these walls literally EVERYWHERE, the walls surrounding my garden and the nearby fields are ~200-300 years old :D

Heres a nice example, not my walls, but basically the same.

Yeah, that's what I picture too. Having these would be cool.

I think it's silly how many palisades are around individual farmsteads; I see the gameplay requirement for their presence but they still don't look right.

Garden walls are common around farming since all the stones kicked up during plowing have to be used for something it made sense to use them as fences around the fields. In-game this would be a useful intermediary between the larger defensive structures and the standard fence.

I think the OP's cost idea is good because it's technologically accessible yet it's a time consuming process. For the enabling skill tech, it shouldn't be too low and replace roundpole fences altogether, so maybe Yeomanry (since fences are physical representations of land claims) would work?
