I was thinking a similar thing... I'm sure J&L can and will work out the costs themselves and I'd expect input from the forums to have extremely little bearing on the figures they come up with.

I'm all for stone houses though, and thatched roofs, I've wanted to build the inn since I started playing :P

Oh, that's what it'd need! Mortar! You'd need to take sand or rocks, water and some kind of cement to mix up a batch of mortar in a bucket, which might eventually harden. You'd probably need 30 units of sand/rock, 10 liters of water, and 15 units of cement overall.

I'll admit specifics are probably a little optimistic on our part. I mention them more as a guideline of how much I would expect.

How about instead of having abstract metal, a blacksmith needs to take cast iron and make nails?
Surprise.

I've actually suggested both nails and mortar in another topic. :P
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

Character: Hamel, previously Chieftain of Ancient Bottleneck, a founding father of the Confederation of Bottleneck. Currently a hibernating soul.

What I want to see is a lighthouse that would have several stories, and a bonfire on the top floor. As long as the bonfire is lit, it'd show up on the world map and shed light in a large radius.
Although I suspect the game engine doesn't really support cross-zone effects like that...

A lighthouse is a purely awesome idea. I'd prefer that it'd take candles though I'm not sure that's too realistic.
