I don't see how you can live with not making jokes in terrible taste about terrorists while running around with a gauze.
But you are right, if you have decent con the a few hq leeches are good enough regain the few HHP you lost while hunting. Especially because the headslot is usually quite important. I just never found them any effective when I was still learning the game and the combatsystem and had to recover 50 HHP's with only 20 con after a 'sucesfull' hunting trip.
