Semi automatic is probably the right word.

Although if its completely manual ... its probably a lot more easier to (initial) implement.
Only thing that seems to be needed is some automatic "character position to map" feature. So you don't have to pick-position click/delete/click again.
Leaving the "note/message" part manual, makes is general purpose. Could still be Auto-filled ... depending on related gui-actions.
